Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: CCENT Study Guide I did not actually take the CCENT exam, but I used this bookk as a preliminary study guide before I used Todd's CCNA Study guide. This book is AWESOME!! Pay close attention to Chapter 3 on subnetting - Todd has a unique method of not only teaching subnetting, but also utilizing those methods to make to make other CCNA objectives easier to comprehend. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone stating their pursuit of Cisco Certifications!! Doesn't cover all of the exam material I was dismayed to find that the exam (640-822 ICND1) had numerous questions on some key concepts that were not included at all in the book - namely Subinterfaces, VLANs, and Access Control Lists. Fortunately, the questions on these topics were not too advanced and I was obviously able to make some educated guesses because I passed the exam...but still, it would be nice when buying a book labeled "Covers All Exam Objectives" to actually have a book that covers all exam objectives. I'm not sure if Cisco changed the exam objectives since the book was published or what, but it's pretty disappointing and frustrating to find yourself struggling to learn a new topic literally as you're taking the exam. This book works, I passed first time through. This book was my #1 resource for passing the Cisco ICND1, 640-822 exam. Having never touched a router, other than at home to get DSL up, I went from zero knowledge to passing in a matter of three weeks. This book was well written. There are some typo's, so if you catch them (I found a good 5 or so) that's a great sign that you're understanding the material. This book and a router simulator are enough to pass, but it helps to also review the Cisco Press book for complete preparedness. Good Book I found this book to be a good tool for certifying but I would suggest getting a simulation software to use as well. In certifying I found some questions on the exam that were not covered in this book. So maybe go for CBT nuggets product as well. Great resource An author that actually speaks normal english...WOW! Very easy to understand without pointless topics, a must have! | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
