In search of the perfect human diet, Victoria Boutenko compares the standard American diet with the diet of wild chimpanzees. Chimpanzees share an estimated 99.4% of genes with humans, but their diet is dramatically different from ours. The most glaring difference is that chimpanzees consume significantly more green leaves than humans. Victoria developed a series of greens smoothies that enable anyone to consume the necessary amount of greens in a very palatable way.
eye opening
I enjoyed reading this book very much and even though I am not Vegan, Raw, Vegetarian etc. I enjoyed and learned from the material presented. I inherited an very old vita mix and googled smoothies and came across "green smoothies" and was intrigued enough toresearch them and this book and author surfaced many times so I decided to buy the book myself and see what all the hype was about. I love the science behind it all, and have enjoyed green smoothies most everyday since reading the info! I then decided to try Raw meals too. I have fallen back to my old diet here and there but the green smoothies have stayed! I have lost 8 pounds too!Just incorporating 1 green smoothy a day! I really do feel it is a must do for life now! Thank you, Boutenkos!
Would Give it 10 Stars if I Could
I cannot recommend this book strongly enough. It will change your life. The author writes engagingly and clearly, yet with enough data and research to make this a scientifically-approved textbook.
Healthy Living
My doctor recommended this book and I'm glad he did. I have had many health problems for years and this book makes sense about why we are having so many health issues. It is well written and very informative. I have changed my diet and aiming to eat as this book recommends. My health has already started to improve. I really think this is going to change my life and hopefully I can get my whole family to join in this healthy eating.
Green for life
Everyone should read this book. It is an excellent book for anyone searching for a healthier lifestyle. Highly recommended.
