I took my Series 7 this morning and passed with a 74. I must say that this book played a big part in my passing. The book highlights the most important material in a very down to earth and interesting way (well as interesting as it can be). The options chapter was especially helpful and I had many aha! moments as I read through the book. It really helped me pull everything together. As I was going through some of the practice questions, I did find some mistakes so I didn't use the practice tests or the CD. I recommend using this book to supplement your studying and definitely not as the only source of your studying. How I incorporated this book was by reading my entire Series 7 book that I received from STC, I took about 8 or 9 STC practice tests, then I took the 4 day long STC class. After all of that, I read through the Series 7 for Dummies book to try to solidify some of the topics that I was still having trouble with (options, taxation, margin). It really helped and I don't think that I would have passed without it. I'm so happy that I don't have to go back for a second try!!! I def recommend this book.

Pretty good book. The author prepares the reader for the actual test, through what to expect. The downside is the material is out dated, and the practice exams are off a little bit. I constantly caught myself correcting the author's answers to his mock exam questions. It does how ever, keep you entrenched with the material even if you only read it in the bathroom. He had the best advice I've heard from any rep or instructor. "Learn new material every day, but reinforce old material daily as well." To pass the Seven you must study every day and own the material. There are no shortcuts, I passed earlier today, through obsessive study. Buy this book only as side note, to a real study plan. I read this after I studied my STC materials and it helped me get a better grasp on the main topics. Previously, I had taken the exam 3 times but failed miserably. This time around, I got a 82!

I ordered the used book and had it delivered by standard mail. It took a couple weeks before it finally arrived. When it arrived, it was in excellent condition. Looks brand new. I would definitely order from Amazon again.

This book was excellent as a supplementary study book. It made many formulas and expressions easier to understand. The book should be used together with a main book.
