Summary:

Easy to understand and simple to apply, The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me for Women is one of the most powerful books ever written about money and essential reading for any woman today.

When Richard Paul Evans was twelve years old, his father fell and broke both of his legs. With no income and no insurance, the Evans family was destitute. At this time a multimillionaire taught young Evans the five secrets to wealth. Evans used those five secrets not only to change his life but that of thousands of others when he wrote The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me About Life and Wealth. An international bestseller, this essential book interweaves those influential lessons with personal stories from everyday people. Evans explains that money should not be the preoccupation of our lives, but instead our focus should be on the principles that free us to concentrate on God, family, and relationships -- life's true riches.

Now Evans has taken years of personal research and coaching to create the perfect money book for women who want a better life. With his classic, motivational voice, Evans offers lessons that are easy to understand and simple to follow. Powerful, proven, and life changing, The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me for Women may be one of the most important books you will ever read.

Finally a money book that is easy to read!

This is an incredible book that I'd like to recommend to everyone. If you're not a woman, you can read the same 5 lessons in The 5 Lessons a Millionaire taught me about Life and Wealth.

This book is a quick read and that's a big plus since I've slogged through quite a few finance type books (and some I didn't finish). Richard outlines the steps to financial freedom in easy to understand terms with plenty of interesting examples.

He writes in such a way that I felt like I was listening to a motivational speaker (which he is) while reading. I felt so encouraged about the things that my husband and I are trying to do right with our finances and supported on those things that we can improve on.

My nitpicks: I would've liked to see more new information in this book, instead of mostly a repeat of the first book, The 5 Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me about Life and Wealth, (which I also own) but this is a minor nitpick since repetition is the greatest teacher.

My Favorites: My favorite lesson is Winning in the Margins, where Richard teaches you how to look for new ways to increase your income by thinking outside of the box and looking for opportunities instead of getting stuck in a rut. I love the stories he shares in the book of people who applied Winning in the Margins to add to their wealth.

*Richard encourages his readers to share the 5 Lessons with someone else within 48 hours of reading the book. Okay, I'm a few hours late, but I hope this review will encourage you to pick up the 5 Lessons and revolutionize your financial life!

At first I discounted this version as I LOVED the The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me About Life and Wealthbook by Mr. Richard Paul Evans. Why would women need their own spin on these classic lessons? After getting a favorable review from a trusted friend I decided to check it out. She'd lent out her copy but I was able to listen to the audio book. Wow! It really does include great additional resources and examples that I totally enjoyed. I gained great new psychological insights into why I struggle with saving and paying myself first. In fact I was able to make an important step and have saved 10% of our income this month and I'm looking forward to cutting myself a check for the second month in a row!

I recommend The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me for Womenas one of the top 5-10 books on financial management of ALL TIME! Especially relevant for women in our current financial meltdown. I will be purchasing soon- a planned financial investment for me and my family. Even my 13 yr old is walking around talking about his nest egg.

The 5 Lessons A Milionaire Taught is Excellent!

This book is excellent and gives great insights to how women think about money. It gives solid advice on managing money. I have used the principles and have seen an improvement in my finances. Thank you Richard Paul Evans!

Good Financial Advice Aimed At Women

The 5 Lessons A Millionaire Taught Me for Women About Life and Wealth by Richard Paul Evans is short, sweet and filled with financial pearls of wisdom. Commonsense advice, valuable resources and motivational quotations make this little book a must read for any women ready for financial success.

Truthfully, I am always a little skeptical about men writing books aimed at women. I was happy to realize that Richard Paul Evans was inspired to write this book based on the advice he gave his niece and the lessons from his first book The 5 Lessons A Millionaire Taught Me About Life and Wealth. He uses the same five keys as the first book but adds tips, statistics and examples aimed at women and our specific financial needs. I read the original 5 Lessons and still wanted to read this one because it was specifically geared toward women. The 5 Lessons A Millionaire Taught Me for Women About Life and Wealth didn't disappoint!

This book is a quick read - 118 pages of how-tos and about 60 pages of resources. Just because it is small doesn't mean it isn't filled with valuable and useful information. Each page contains at least one nugget of wisdom to help get our financial house in order and steer us on the path of greater financial self-sufficiency.

There is something for every woman in The 5 Lessons A Millionaire Taught Me for Women About Life and Wealth, no matter how financially savvy you may be. These five keys are practical wealth building ideas that we should never grow weary of reading and applying in our lives.

My favorite key is Lesson Four: Win In the Margins. "The wealthy find additional ways to add to their growing nest egg." Included in this lesson are four valuable mind-sets:
1. Carefully consider each expenditure - includes the money saving seven golden words
2. Freedom and power are better than momentarily pleasure
3. Not equating spending with happiness
4. Protecting the nest egg.

I also appreciate the wonderful success stories of women, just like us, who set goals and gained control of their finances to grow a dream into a success business. I love a good success story! I particularly enjoyed the story of Debbie Fields of Mrs. Field's Cookies.

This little book is a reminder to all of us that commonsense and money should always go hand-in-hand. The 5 lessons A Millionaire Taught Me About Life and Wealth for Women by Richard Paul Evans has quickly become one of my favorite financial books.

Just Great book and great author. I have read most of his other books and have enjoyed everything I have read. I wish I could have had this book years ago. I have bought one for my married daughter who has just found out she is going to have a baby. She works at a bank and it will be very helpful for her and her family as she is off from work to have the baby.
