I volunteered to do the probate process for my mother's estate. This book was absolutely essential. It gives clear, step-by-step instructions on each part of the probate process. However, do-it-yourself probate is not for the faint of heart. This is a major undertaking even with such an outstanding resource book. Be prepared to spend MANY, MANY hours. But, you will save buckets of money. I had the advantage of agreeable siblings and no conflicts over who got what or how much. Thank you, thank you, thank you Nolo Press.

My mother did not leave a will. I did not know where or how to begin the process of taking care of her estate. This book provides a wealth of information for persons with wills and without. Even though I did have to end up hiring an attorney, there where no surprises and if I had a question the book generally answered it. Good investment!
