Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Helpful for class I would purchase from this seller again and recommend. The item was delivered promptly and in the condition promised. Always a good way to review a difficult topic Mr. Tracy has done a great job of sprinkling real life examples, humor and the drab facts of accounting. I enjoyed the layout of his chapters and this man seems to know what he is talking about. His longevity in this industry is amazing. So, if you need to review accounting this book is a very good refresher. Not for dummies or newbies I got this book to simply understand accounting for a college class. This is not the book! It is written by a CPA,thats easy to tell. It is not easy to read and certainly does not fit the dummie series. Its value shows in the used price it sells for-29 to 50 cents and thats all it is worth if you want to learn accounting. Why cant accountants talk simple to teach,Guess its not in their genes. Very good for Accounting background I'm on an MBA course and used this as a primer to understand basic concepts. Thumbs up. J. Tracy is a good writer who makes it an enjoyable read. Horrible introduction for dummies... If you've picked this book up, it's probably because you want to learn how to make your personal finances or your own small business organized and professional. However, this book glosses over everything from income tax returns to stock investments to end of year profit and loss reports to what CPA's do to what financial fraud is to what computer software you should use... and does so without really going into detail for each of them. For example, Tracy touches on what records you should keep if the government audits your business... but all he says is that you should keep records.
