I came across this at a store one day, and I immediately bought it on the spot. Perhaps like me, you've been exposed to all those essential details of construction and detailing, but because you don't use them on a day-to-day basis, you've forgotten most of them. Or maybe you're a student that wants to absorb all the little details and bits of knowledge that Architects apply in their practice.

In the past, one would save these little tidbits in a sketchbook, or saved the information that manufacturers passed along in all those lunch presentations. Of course I still collect the information at those lunch presentations, but this book gathers all those little tidbits of pertinent information into a nicely presented book. It is a comprehensive collection of information with 3D drawings to help students (and young interns) understand what that 2D drafting object actually looks like.

This is a great item to have on your bookshelf, adjacent to your treasured Graphics Standards and/or Timesaver book(s). And the price here is 34% less than the face value that I paid for.

I have been wondering why the A0,A1, and A2 paper size listed on page 52 did not jive with the Autocad prints I was compositing in Adobe InDesign. the metric dimensions listed that was using to make conversions were incorrect. Listed for A0 is 841 x 1198, it is actually 841 x 1189. A1 is listed as 610 x 914, it is actually 594 x 841. A2 is listed as 914 x 1219, is actually 420 x 594. WOW How could you mess this up??? This is a semi-easy mistake to spot if you are familiar with the standard sizes of paper.

This book is so helpful in my studies. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the profession, or students trying to get an edge in class.

architectural graphic standard ALWAYS checked out in the library? and all you need to know is how wide the turning radius needs to be for this stupid parking lot? yea i've been there billions of times. my friends at school all started buying this book as a quick reference and it has great information inside. it's by no means exhaustive, but it definitely has enough to get a student by. the information is written and organized in a very accessible way. i highly recommend this book
